- Tuscany? Really? Are you guys nuts?
Yes. Yes. Maybe.
You'll love it, we promise. We wanted to find a place where we could all share a fantastic experience in a memorable setting and we would never ask you to travel so far without knowing it would be worth it.
- How do I book a room at Il Borro?
Please email Angela@ilborro.it. But first, check out the Accommodations section for details and understand that apartments will be assigned for your 3-night stay based on your preference for a Classic or Deluxe room (as best we can). If you wish to arrive earlier or stay longer, that can be arranged directly through Il Borro based on their availability.
- What's the best way to rent a car in Europe?
Same as you would in the US, but here's an important tip: Use the UK site of whichever car rental company you normally use. For example, Hertz.co.uk will have far better prices than Hertz.com.
NOTE: Most rental cars in Europe are manual transmission, if you need automatic you must specify. - You mentioned I need an international driving permit? What's that?
It's a simple piece of paper you carry along with your US drivers license. Simply download and fill out this form and bring it along with 2 passport size photos and $15 to your local AAA office. Easy. - We have children. Are they invited?
While it's a grown-up destination, the property is family friendly (and so are we), so if you want to bring your kids, go for it. Our invitation is extended to them for our welcome dinner and lawn party but if you prefer to have hands-free evenings, let us know and our ace planner will help coordinate the babysitting service for you. It will be our pleasure to provide babysitting service for the night of the big dance. NOTE: Il Borro charges a small fee to bring in cots. If you prefer an extra room, please know that space is limited and we won't be able to confirm availability until after May 15th. - What's the attire?
Tuscany in July is likely to be in the mid-80's, the evenings settle to the low-70's (Dave's perfect temperature). Daytime is, of course, casual. Our welcome dinner on Thursday is also casual, so wear whatever is comfortable. Ladies, please know that we will be on cobblestone that night so spiky heels are not advised for this dinner. Friday's lawn party is a step up to comfortable button-downs with khakis, etc. and summery "I'm-going-out-but-not-too-overdone" frocks. That party is on grass so those Manolos and Louboutins can wait another night. The wedding on Saturday is cocktail attire. - Where are you guys registered?
Having you join us in Tuscany is the best present we could ask for.
UPDATE: Several kind folks have indicated that we really should have a registry. Although we insist gifts aren't necessary, those who generously disagree can find us on myregistry.com.
